It looks like you have MS. Once those words are spoken, you can never take them back. 

My name is Alyssa, and I’m living with multiple sclerosis. I was just 23 years old when the ophthalmologist uttered the words: ‘It looks like you’ve got MS.’ I remember crying and saying to the doctor ‘You’ve said it now, you can’t take it back.’

It’s family, friends and the Society that make it possible to carry on. It’s hard to explain what happens after you have been told you have MS. A million thoughts fly through your head - will I be in a wheelchair? Can I still have children? Am I defective in some way?

This disease is so difficult: we don't know why the body turns on itself, and there is no cure. So, it’s family, friends - and the MS Society - that make it possible to carry on. 

The MS Society needs your help.

What we need desperately is funding for the great work that the MS Queensland Society do. They made such an amazing difference to my life when I first heard I had MS. They supported me as I learned to deal with living with the disease.

Please donate what you can. I can promise you that every little bit counts, helping those of us who need it so much.
