Researchers in Norway have examined reasons why people with MS leave employment.
The study looked at the subsequent employment and medical history of 188 people who had been diagnosed between 1976 and 1986. A third of the group were still in employment. The factors that were associated with a longer working life were a relapsing remitting course of MS, a higher educational level and lighter physical work.
