Councils across Queensland have a commitment to identify and address any barriers that exist so that all members of the community can access services and facilities to their community.
On 11 May 2011 Brisbane City Council released the Draft Brisbane Access and Inclusion Plan 2012-2017: Achieving Universal Inclusion of People with Disability in the Life of Australia's New World City.
The draft plan includes information on pedestrian mobility and transport, planning, infrastructure, public venues and more. If you live in Brisbane please read a copy of the draft plan by clicking here and provide your feedback.
You can also have your say on the general accessibility of Brisbane City Council services by completing the Access and Inclusion Survey by clicking here.
Other local governments across Queensland have similar strategies, please consult your local government website for local information or contact Natalie Walsh, MS Australia - QLD Advocacy Manager on 07 3840 0823.
