There is already much information to share regarding the proposed National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and we will be providing monthly updates, together with any breaking news that comes to hand regarding the NDIS. So please join us to share the great benefits that the NDIS will bring for everyone.

Have you given any more thought to how you can Spread the Word to let everyone know about the NDIS? We have had members of the MS community from Brisbane to Sunshine Coast meet with their MPs to share what the introduction of an NDIS will mean to them. Why don’t you meet with your Member of Parliament during the week of action 27 Nov – 3 Dec? Don’t forget it can be as easy as having ten of your friends sign the NDIS petition or a letterbox drop to houses in your neighbourhood.
Person with MS Wenda Shurety recently met with her local MP Ross Vasta, the Federal Member for Bonner, to discuss the NDIS along with her daughter and parent aide (pictured below).
Here is some additional great information to share with friends, members of parliament and your community regarding how the whole community will find economic benefit from the NDIS.
Information you can share – NDIS = economic benefits
- The NDIS range of supports will enable people with disability to participate in employment
- 200,000 say they would like to work if they had the right support
- Over 35,000 new full-time equivalent (FTE) jobs would be created
- The overall effect of the NDIS would be to economically benefit the nation

Cairns NDIS meeting – 9 December, 2011
