Tanya
In early 2015, Tanya began experiencing worrying symptoms, including numbness in the left side of her face. Initially dismissed as routine dental concerns, Tanya’s journey took a sharp turn when her dentist referred her to an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon. Little did she know this referral would set the stage for her battle against MS. Following dental scans, the surgeon, suspecting a neurological issue, ordered a brain MRI, leading to the confirmation: Tanya had MS.
Despite the challenges posed by MS, Tanya refuses to let it dictate her life and continues to live life to the fullest, undeterred by the uncertainties that MS may bring. Tanya’s motto certainly encapsulates her positive attitude and determination!
Tanya’s story serves as an inspiration, reminding us all that with courage, resilience, and the support of kind hearted people and compassionate organizations like MS Queensland, we can overcome even the greatest of challenges.

Kim
In December 2021, Kim had turned 31 and was enjoying her new life on the Gold Coast after moving to sunny Queensland from regional Victoria. Kim was preparing to return home for the Christmas holidays when tingling in both hands created concern. It wasn’t long before Kim had received her MS diagnosis.
“One of the first things that I did as soon as I got my diagnosis was reach out to MS Queensland and I put my hand up and say, I’ve got this diagnosis – What does it mean? What can I do? How can you help?”
Since connecting with MS Queensland, Kim has been able to access a range of services available to her, thanks to the generous fundraising and donations from the MS Community, including specialist nursing support and NDIS access.

Josie
Josie was diagnosed 15 years ago with MS. At first the diagnosis left her feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about what comes next.
With your support Josie was able to reach out to MS Queensland via the NeuroAssist info line for support and guidance. The team directed her to the NDIS service where they were able to help Josie navigate the complexities of the NDIS process to get funding, she needed to help manage her MS.
This support fully paid for by kind hearted supporters like you helped Josie get the help she needed to manage her MS ensuring her MS journey is positive and full of hope.
